Sometimes, when you are two steps ahead of your supervisors, they will say that you are very efficient and that you are indispensable.

When you are two steps ahead of your supervisors ALL OF THE TIME, they will resent it and do everything they can to put you down.

Therefore, hypocritical though it may be, you need to pretend that you appreciate learning new things from your supervisors from time to time.
