On March 1 the Hindus in Bali will celebrate Nyepi a.k.a "The Day of Silence". It is the Balinese New Year, a day for purification and for reconciliation with God, with Nature, with loved ones, and with themselves. The Balinese Hindus practice Catur Brata Penyepian, or "The Four Nyepi Prohibitions": abstinence from fire, abstinence from travel, abstinence from work, and abstinence from entertainment.
