Consider the rooms in the extreme corners of your house. None of those rooms should be dead space. There should be a bedroom being used in each corner, or a room that is constantly being used, such as a kitchen.

Always think of your house as a boat that needs to be balanced. This prevents your astral house from toppling over and from receiving unwanted inhabitants.
