On or around this time our compound security guards drop by their agency on ____________ Street to know whether other guards have been volunteering to work shifts on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day. It seems that one of the compound guards wasn't so lucky to get one of those days off, and will be on duty Christmas Eve.
I can imagine how difficult it must be for guards to work holidays, away from their own families. I always go out of my way to make sure that they are fed good meals, have coffee, candy, and gifts that I know they will appreciate.
