Here are ways to survive in a purgatory country:
--Remember your family, and that you love and live for them.
--Remember that your life must uplift not only yourself and your family but your ancestors as well, and that it must therefore be an honest life.
--Always plan a trifle joy for yourself each day: a cup of espresso, window shopping and wishing, a short conversation with a special person, and such.
--Write down your personal objectives for each year and each month, and then for each week and each day, and then for each morning and each evening.
--Bring Nature into your house or your room: pet birds, pet fish, a small fountain, pet plants, flowers. If not actual Nature, photos or other representations of them.
--Have different sources of light in your room. Turn on your alternative lighting from time to time.
--Take a long walk, a.k.a. a power walk, slowly and leisurely, at least once a week, no matter how depressing the sights around you.
--At the end of each day, before going to sleep, review your day and determine what was the most important thing you learned that day.
--Record and interpret your dreams, for your mind is the most informative and interesting book you will have ever read.
--Do a small kindness to others at least once a day.
