Saw the DIVA replay of Breakfast at Tiffany's last night. Audrey Hepburn seems miscast and looks too innocent for the role--in other words, you can tell that she is ACTING. I think that I like her better in stills. Her outfits, however, still look stunning. Almost as though hats should come back in vogue, what with all the climate changes going on around us.
The female characters of Truman Capote, Tennessee Williams, and their contemporaries are "types", and Audrey Hepburn was never one of them.
I will never hear "Moon River" the same way again. Re-viewing the movie has made it finally clear that it's a social climber's song.
